Within 5 years one third of all new jobs in the United States will be created by woman-owned companies. Small business growth has seen a sharp increase in the number of companies owned by women. Wisconsin based women-owned firms have seen an increase in revenue of 43.7% since 1997.
Wisconsin’s women owned businesses account for $21 billion annually in sales and receipts, and employ over 150,000 workers. 26% of all businesses in Wisconsin are solely owned, or have a majority ownership by women, over 110,000 companies in total.
Each year, The Business Journal of Milwaukee compiles their list of the top-25 women-owned companies in Wisconsin based on total sales.
